Sign-In Troubleshooting

Overview

Definitive implemented a new process for signing into exisitng accounts in June 2025 in order to offer additional and more secure sign-in methods (e.g. passkeys or Login with Google).

  1. If you set up your Definitive account initially using an email, you MUST log in with your email and password (use forgot password if needed) and link your authorized wallet to your account (detailed instructions below):

  2. If you set up your Definitive account initially using a wallet, you MUST log in with your wallet and set up a secondary login method (email, passkey, or Login with Google) for your account by following the steps below:

    1. Log into desktop. Then click the Profile icon and then click on Settings:

    2. Email Users - Use the Link Wallet button to link your authorized wallet to your account.

    3. Wallet Users - Use any of the other methods to set up a secondary login method.

Troubleshooting

If you originally signed up on Definitive via Email, but you tried to log in with your Wallet, this will create a new Definitive account using your wallet. To correct this, you'll need to unlink your wallet from the new account by following these steps:

  1. In your new Wallet account, click on the Profile button in the top right of the trading terminal. Then click Settings.

  2. In the Settings menu, add a new or superfluous email that is NOT the email you would like associated with your main account on Definitive (e.g. [email protected]).

  3. Now, use the settings menu to unlink the wallet associated with this new/superflous email by clicking the trash can icon next to your wallet:

  4. Follow the steps at the top of this page to log into your primary Definitive account using your Email and password. Use the Settings menu to link your authorized wallet to your main account on Definitive.
