### <mark style="color:orange;">Staking Overview</mark>

$EDGE can be staked for immediate trader benefits and EDGE rewards.

* A minimum staked amount of **$200 in $EDGE** unlocks participation in [EDGE Rewards](https://docs.definitive.fi/rewards/edge-rewards-flywheel), [lower fees](https://docs.definitive.fi/platform/trading-fees) and extended fee tier lookback windows.
* **All staked $EDGE** across portfolios is combined and counts toward your total staking allocation.
* There is a 7-day cooldown period when you unstake your $EDGE.

### <mark style="color:orange;">How to Stake $EDGE</mark>

1. On Web, open the Definitive app and look at the top navigation bar.\
   Click **Stake EDGE** to open the Staking page.

2. On the right side of the Staking page, open the **Portfolio dropdown.**\
   \- Select the portfolio (vault) that holds the $EDGE you want to stake.\
   \- Your available $EDGE balance for that portfolio will appear below the dropdown.

3. In the **Quantity** field, enter how much $EDGE you want to stake

   Click **Stake EDGE** to confirm

### <mark style="color:orange;">How to Unstake $EDGE</mark>

1. On Web, open the Definitive app and look at the top navigation bar.\
   Click **Stake EDGE** to open the Staking page.

2. On the Staking page, click the **Unstake tab** and select the portfolio you want to unstake from.

3. Set the amount and confirm

   Enter the amount of $EDGE you want to unstake and click **Unstake EDGE**

If you have 2FA enabled, you will be prompted to verify before the transaction is submitted.

### <mark style="color:orange;">7 Day Cool-down Period</mark>

**There is a 7-day cooldown period that starts whenever you unstake $EDGE.** You won’t be able to trade or withdraw the unstaked $EDGE during this cooldown.

If you unstake additional $EDGE during an active 7-day cooldown, it will reset a new 7-day cooldown for the full amount being unstaked.

\
**Example:** You unstake 100 $EDGE on Monday, triggering a 7-day cooldown. On Tuesday, you unstake an additional 200 $EDGE. The cooldown resets on Tuesday and now applies to the full 300 $EDGE.

After the 7-day cooldown ends, your unstaked $EDGE will automatically return to the same portfolio you originally unstaked from.
